I have so far read all books 1 through 10.
First off i can highly recommend them!
Joe Bishop as the main character along with a tin can which is introduced later in book 1.
From book 1: We were fighting on the wrong side, of a war we couldn’t win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits.
The series continues with equal messure humor, battles and despair, all mixed into one.
There is a nice progression, where joe has to battle space aliens, concoct crazy plans, and build space ships from junk. The writing is phenomenal, the characters are loveable and skippy the beer can is an AI which learns to be human. Unfortunately he learns it from joe, which brings hilarity in generous doses.
If you want a humorous, thrilling read, then this book series is for you! And best of all, it isn’t done yet! And updates are at least once a year.
5 / 5 stars !
